How do you deal with the fact that seen in a timeline there is no sound. Only if you actually open it do you get sound. Does that mean we should use text in combination with spoken words? I see this more and more often.
Thanks. Really helpful video! Looks like I have to subscribe your channel because you are very straightforward and giving clear answers. Not like other people who are talking half an hour and still not answering questions.
Great trick on locking the content to be unlocked with a Like. Your content so far has sbeen well worth a simple Like. I don’t think I am headed to being an Amazon Associate but it appears most of your experience will transfer to other plans.
It is all too common to be working on one thing when all of a sudden, something “shiny” comes through your inbox or is mentioned in a forum you frequent. Then off you go chasing some new idea to make money online.
Armed with this knowledge you’d think that people would spend more time testing their theme or website layout to the optimal way to make money from their website right? Well, I still see some of the worst converting themes around and that’s why I actually paid for a theme to be created specifically for these physical product focused websites I had been building.
Affiliate marketing is commonly confused with referral marketing, as both forms of marketing use third parties to drive sales to the retailer. The two forms of marketing are differentiated, however, in how they drive sales, where affiliate marketing relies purely on financial motivations, while referral marketing relies more on trust and personal relationships.[citation needed]

Making money online without a website is very possible. One thing many people don’t know is YouTube is a great platform to get your feet wet in terms of gaining valuable experience in video marketing and writing content on Medium.com. Doing so gets you in the positive mindset of relying on freelancing as a means of putting yourself in a future position to earn a 100% living online.
It’s an essential part of your success that you focus on just one niche at a time. Here’s what I mean. Don’t try to be like Amazon, selling thousands of different types of products. It may seem counterintuitive but promoting many products across many niches is not the best approach for first-time online entrepreneurs. To be honest, you can’t compete against Amazon or other catch-all internet retailers. You have a much better chance focusing on a niche market.
Nothing breaks a reader’s trust more than being led to a promotion that will blow up their inbox. Put yourself in the shoes of a potential customer and see what will happen if they follow your advice.
This is so helpful! I want to become an amazon associate and i am based in both Greece and UK. Could my site promote products for amazon.com? Am i free to make this choice? Is it affected by the billing address of my card? Should/Could i change my IP address to a USA one in order to improve my SEO?
Nowadays, almost everyone is into this lucrative field of making extra money. If you are a serious video content creator, then YouTube is the best platform for you to earn money thru affiliate marketing. This platform is prevalent among the masses and is divided into two kinds of groups- product creator and the product user. The former ones are the professional marketers, and the later ones fall into the category of casual marketers.
i start amazon affiliate 3 days back and get 302 clicks on amazon links but not a single conversion, i am asking it very soon, but what % is good of buyers like 100 clicks and how much buy is good ? 2-5-10% ??
The truth is much more complicated. It’s true that affiliate programs can be sources of phantom revenue and off-brand promotion. But managed properly, they can also make up 5-15 percent of online revenue and have an ROI among the highest of any online channel. CMOs are realizing that affiliate marketing can be an important part of their arsenal and are integrating the channel into their overall marketing strategies.
Facebook’s In-Stream video ads break through long form video content by being placed at least 20 seconds in to the video in order to ensure that viewers are actively engaged. Slightly different than their video counterparts that run solely in the Facebook newsfeed, In-Stream videos are between 5-15 seconds long and are usually played with the sound on, giving more allowance for ad creativity.  Also, add in their prediction that 75% of all mobile content will be video by 2020, and Facebook is offering brands a unique advertising opportunity.
You put an ad on your site and you get paid a predetermined amount for every 1000 pageviews on your site. So for example, let’s say you are working with an ad network that pays $2 CPM. Every time their ad is shown 1000 times on your site, they pay you $2. Pretend your site gets 50,000 pageviews a month (and a particular ad shows up on every one of those pages). That means you will be paid $100 that month for that ad because $2 for 50 thousands (times it is “viewed”) is $100. Make sense?
Honestly you just need to narrow down to a niche that you want to focus on and then move forward with something. I spent less than a few hundred bucks when I first got started. Now years and years later, I’ll spend tens of thousands of dollars starting or buying something if I want to. But that’s the fun part is that unless you have a big inheritance everyone starts from zero and then tries to grow from there.
You’re right, Javier – the Smart Blogger audience is mostly beginning and intermediate bloggers and online businesses. The merchant side is more of an advanced topic. But good suggestion. Maybe they’ll address the merchant side in the future.
The coffee goes on for quite some time, the slow motion bringing the whole video to a new level of luxury and decadence. With the pro-looking title slide —which reads “Slow Moving Monday”—the whole thing looks more like an amateur short film than a simple coffee shot.
I have no idea why it did this, but I guess if you are going to do a review of an information product, check the competition to see what other people have done already and do something better. You could wind up ranking for something with relatively little SEO work.
Amazon’s obviously a really big one. It’s an easy one that a lot of people like to use. So I would start with Amazon if you’re new to affiliate links. The other places I would check would be CJ.com, LinkShare.com, ShareASale.com, and ImpactRadius.com. They’re like the affiliate networks or the houses that house all the different brands inside. So you can find the Wal-Marts and the Targets or whatever inside those networks. So once you get approved for their service, you can just start applying to all those different ones.
Some merchants are using outsourced (affiliate) program management (OPM) companies, which are themselves often run by affiliate managers and network program managers.[25] OPM companies perform affiliate program management for the merchants as a service, similar to the role an advertising agencies serves in offline marketing.
Add affiliate links in your content. One great way to get paid a commission without appearing to sell anything is add affiliate links within your content. That way, when people click on the link, they’re taken to the company site and, if they buy, you’ll earn a commission.
Fortunately, there is a way you can start your business without this risk. You don’t have to invest in creating and manufacturing a product. You don’t even have to waste time on doing market testing or other research to figure out if a specific product will work. In this approach, the products are proven sellers. And you can be in any of thousands of niches. There’s sure to be one that fits your interests.
One of the drawbacks to the service was that most of the watching was still happening inside Facebook’s feed, where the video creators also post the shows, instead of inside the Watch hub itself. “The majority of video discovery and watch time happens in News Feed,” Facebook said in a blog post, acknowledging what show creators have been saying privately for months.
There are of course more lessons that cover the basics, plus market research and site building if you want to know more about any of these beginning stages. The Affilorama forums are there to help if you have any questions or you just want to talk to others who’re also getting started.
The easiest thing to do is to sign up for an affiliate marketing network like Commission Junction. They provide a marketplace where your affiliate program will be advertised to other affiliate marketers. They also provide the tracking software for your affiliates so you don’t have to build your own tracking system. In some ways this is better because it takes care of the trust issues. Affiliates are always suspicious of whether or not they’re getting credited for the sales they generate. By having an intermediary take care of transaction tracking and payments, the fear of being cheated is alleviated.
There are many ways to make money with your videos and one popular way is to make money is to combine YouTube videos and affiliate links. If you have an active channel on YouTube are building subscribers, and like to upload regular videos about anything, you can turn your video views into constant income for you. Many people opt to use the YouTube ads program to make money out of their videos. This is the most standard money making program on YouTube but it may not provide much of an income in the long run. For hundreds of views on your videos, you might only make a few cents out of your YouTube ads.

  1. I’ve been using Amazon’s affiliate program heavily for a little over two years now and the one thing I found through constant testing is that the layout of your website matters when it comes to how well it converts casual visitors into affiliate sales.
What makes this topic so interesting to me is that there really is no magic bullet to presenting trust and integrity, and that’s why it’s not possible to say that affiliate marketing is either “right” or “wrong”. As you say, trust needs to be shown consistently and built up over time.
The cap on amazon.co.uk applies to all items sold and as Jamie says, it means that there is no point on promoting products worth more than £140 (at 5%, so even less if you climb up the commission percentage ladder).
