The phrase, “Affiliates are an extended sales force for your business”, which is often used to explain affiliate marketing, is not completely accurate. The primary difference between the two is that affiliate marketers provide little if any influence on a possible prospect in the conversion process once that prospect is directed to the advertiser’s website. The sales team of the advertiser, however, does have the control and influence up to the point where the prospect either a) signs the contract, or b) completes the purchase.
Use a URL with UTM codes to track the traffic from the ad to your website. Your marketing software should make it easy for you to track incoming traffic and subsequent conversions, and compare your video campaign to other campaigns you’ve run.
Thanks. Really helpful video! Looks like I have to subscribe your channel because you are very straightforward and giving clear answers. Not like other people who are talking half an hour and still not answering questions.

That is to say, Facebook doesn’t want advertisers to get caught up in comparing completion rates across different placements and platforms and dismissing those that fail to deliver. Some affiliate networks work with many brands/products so in those cases, you can be affiliates for multiple brands/products if you’re part of one affiliate network. Then there are other brands or products that have their own affiliate programs, so those you’ll have to manage separately. It can get sort of crazy to keep track. I use a spreadsheet with brand/product name, my affiliate link, whether or not the company is part of an affiliate network, etc. I wrote about it here. I hope that makes sense!
